Overview

Unlimited is an accessibility-led music experience created for Smirnoff and Creative Equals. The project explores how inclusive design can reshape live events through spatial systems, adaptive wayfinding, digital touchpoints, merchandise, and shared social participation.

Problem

Accessibility barriers continue to prevent large portions of live music audiences from fully participating in festival culture. Unlimited reframes accessibility as a shared social experience rather than a compliance requirement, designing support systems that extend across the full festival journey.

Solution

Unlimited introduces a scalable festival ecosystem centred around accessibility-first participation. The system combines adaptive environments, digital support tools, transport integration, wayfinding, and community-driven touchpoints across the full event journey.

Creating a Multi Channel Brand Experience

To support the campaign, I developed a range of branded touchpoints spanning experiential, digital and promotional channels. The system includes event environments, interactive activations, photography direction, social media content, merchandise, access passes, mobile interfaces and out of home advertising. Each element follows a unified visual language built around bold colour, layered framing devices and energetic lifestyle imagery, ensuring a consistent brand experience across every audience interaction.

Motion System

To extend the identity into motion, I developed a flexible animation system built around the Ripple framework. Inspired by the idea of movement without limits, the system transforms typography, product assets and graphic elements into dynamic visual sequences that expand, repeat and flow across the screen. These animations create a sense of momentum and energy while reinforcing the campaign's core theme of continuous exploration and connection.

Extending the Brand Experience

To bring Smirnoff Unlimited into the real world, I developed a range of merchandise and branded touchpoints that translate the campaign's visual identity into tangible experiences. From apparel and lifestyle products to event assets and collectables, each application carries the same vibrant energy and distinctive graphic language. The result is a connected ecosystem of physical touchpoints that strengthens brand recognition while encouraging audience participation and engagement.

Design System

This section establishes the visual foundation of the Smirnoff Unlimited identity system. By combining a vibrant colour palette, flexible typography, proprietary graphic patterns and the Ripple framework, the system provides a cohesive set of tools that can adapt across digital, physical and experiential applications. Designed for consistency without restriction, each component works together to create a recognisable yet highly versatile identity that reflects the campaign's core idea of unlimited possibilities.

Summary

Smirnoff Unlimited reimagines festival accessibility as a connected experience rather than a collection of isolated solutions. Through audience research, journey mapping and systems thinking, the project identified barriers that occur before, during and after live events, then translated those insights into a cohesive accessibility framework. Supported by a flexible visual identity, Ripple motion system and integrated physical and digital touchpoints, the final outcome demonstrates how inclusive design can foster greater participation, strengthen community connections and create more meaningful shared experiences for all festival audiences.
